چکیده

Objectives: In the study, it was aimed to determine Thiol/Disulphide profile in patients with relapsed brucellosis and relationship between Ischemia Modified Albumin (IMA) Levels profile. Methods: Native thiol, Total Disulphide, Disulphide/Native Disulphide/Total IMA levels were measured forty healthy control group by using newly developed method this cross-sectional study. Results: There no statistically significant difference relapse despite fact that lower than total thiol (p > 0.05). Disulphide detected high but found ratios of disulphide be higher < addition, ratio native The compared <0.05). a positive correlation values thiol/Total (r=0.514, r=0.527, r=0.527; respectively). Conclusions: It is known response treatment can followed up oxidative stress markers also used as indicator our

Ischemia-Modified Albumin Levels in Children with Chronic Liver Disease

BACKGROUND/AIMS Ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) levels have been shown to correlate with the severity of liver failure in adults. However, the role of IMA levels has not been evaluated in children with chronic liver disease (CLD). We analyzed the clinical significance of IMA levels in children with CLD. METHODS Thirty-three children with CLD and 33 healthy children were included in the study....

Ischemia-modified albumin and myocardial ischemia.

Sbarouni et al. (1) reported on “Ischemia-Modified Albumin [IMA] in Relation to Exercise Stress Testing [EST]” in a previous issue of the Journal. Although the investigators found significant differences in the IMA values at baseline, peak exercise, and after EST, there was no relation between the IMA changes and the result of the EST. The researchers stated that changes in IMA levels do not re...

Ischemia modified albumin levels and oxidative stress in patients with bladder cancer.

BACKGROUND Impaired oxidative/antioxidative status plays an important role in the pathogenesis of many diseases like cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the levels of the novel marker ischemia modified albumin (IMA) and albumin adjusted-IMA (Adj-IMA) in patients with bladder cancer (BC) as well as its association with total antioxidant status (TAS), total oxidant status (TOS) and oxid...

The ischemia modified albumin and mean platelet volume levels in patients with Behçet’s disease

INTRODUCTION Behçet's disease (BD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder with endothelial dysfunction. Ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) is a marker used in the detection of diseases associated with oxidative stress, vascular endothelial cell dysfunction and ischemia. Mean platelet volume (MPV) signifies the platelet function and activity. AIM To show whether MPV and IMA are useful in revealing th...

Correlation between ischemia-modified albumin and lipid levels in patients with acute cerebrovascular disease.

Acute cerebrovascular disease (ACVD) is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates, however, molecular markers to aid in its early detection are lacking. In this study, we examined the correlation between serum ischemia-modified albumin (IMA), a marker used to identify ischemic events in the heart, and blood lipids in patients with ACVD. S...
